Yesterday, I finished the Harry Potter series. I feel surprisingly poignant about that today. While there is now some closure, just like so many others I am saddened that I will no longer read about Harry and his adventures again.
I would have never expected to get so into this series, however I think that's probably one of the main reasons I've enjoyed the books as much as I have (and also because J.K. Rowling did a excellent job developing the characters).
Since there are so many people who are working on finishing or plan to eventually read the series, I will refrain from talking about anything in the books today. However, I would like to share my favorite / least favorite characters in the series (and my grades for all the books and movies to date). I will likely do a much more detailed list of items at some point in the future.
Favorite characters (in order): Ginny, Sirius, Hermione and Neville (in book seven)
Least favorite characters: Snape (in the first five books), Vernon and Peeves

I haven't read the books, and I fell asleep during the 1st movie, but I was talked into going to Goblet of Fire, and thought that was pretty sweet, especially the Tri-Wizard deal. I may eventually read the books, but I'm terrible at making time to read. Nice review!
ReplyDeleteThe acting takes a significant step forward starting with book three. If you were to read/watch one more to see if you could get into the series, book three (The Prisoner of Azkaban) would be my suggestion. The knowledge of the first two books obviously helps, but is not mandatory to enjoy. In book three, she does some recapping the past books as well.
